Design concept and design system creation
Introduction
Royal FrieslandCampina is a renowned global dairy company, dedicated to nourishing and inspiring consumers with high-quality dairy products.
The aims of this project were to create a design refresh for Royal FrieslandCampina Professionals that elevates the visual identity and create a contemporary brand image.
Project
Create the user interface and the design system for the new section of Royal Friesland Campina, the RFC Professionals, with the assets coming from the client.
Challenge
Time was the main challenge. We had 4 weeks to complete the project and deliver everything before the developers had to put their hands on it. Thanks to the super efficient project manager who had us working with an Agile method, we were able to deliver everything making the client happy for both the result and the deadlines.
My Role
In this project, I was the lead for the component library creation and maintenance, guiding junior designers who were supporting me. I had to analyze the brand book, translate it into digital assets, and then start with the creation of the components first, then with the production of high-fidelity templates.
Components
Some of the frames below show how I approached the creation of the atoms, molecules, and templates. Once the essential elements were ready, creating the templates required a small amount of time.
Layouts
Since RFC Professionals is one of the BU of the brand Royal Friesland Campina, we had the request to "recycle" the UX patterns that were already in use on other business units within the brand. With the components in place, creating the layouts was fairly easy.
